The Lawas District Story Telling Competition was just around the corner. With only 6 hours of training he managed to end up with 1st runner up in the competition.
It was just 2 weeks before the competition. A number of students were chosen for the competition. However, all students except Mohd Syukri bin Samari were disqualified.
He was supposed to undergo 10 sessions of intensive training with 20 hours totally. Unfortunately, he was affected by Conjunctivitis (Mata Merah) and was unable to go to school not to say to the training.
However, the burning passion in his heart to participate in the Story Telling Competition never cease. With dedication and hard works he memorized the story all by himself.
It was only 3 day before the competition, Mohd Syukri had just came back to school. Doubting his performance, Mr Tan asked him to present his story and he did. Mr Tan was fascinated by his performance and decided to resume his training.
Knowing that he only has 6 hours of training before the competition, he utilized the time as well as he could and learned all the skills required for the competition.
With all the hard works and dedication, finally he ended up with a success. His success has give inspiration to all the members of SK Trusan Lawas.
Hence for the first time, SK Trusan aimed to take part in all the events in the English Carnival including action song, public speaking, coral speaking and story telling next year.
